My family tree LOVE these pillows. I bought the brown giraffe for my daughter when I was pregnant with her but my then-1-yr-old son found it and claimed the giraffe for his own. He sleeps with it every night. We've gotten the monkey, the poodle, and this pink giraffe, as well. They are sooooooo soft and cuddly. Don't protest Fred Phelps' funeral, Kansas LGBT group says

Fred Phelps, who was perhaps the United States' most provocative anti-gay activist, died this week, but there was no celebrating on the other side of the phone when the Los Angeles Times reached one of Kansas' top LGBT advocates on Thursday.

Thomas Witt, the executive director for Equality Kansas, was blunt: Don't celebrate Phelps' death, it's not appropriate. Donate some money to an LGBT advocacy group instead.

We are asking that the LGBT community rise above all the anger we feel toward the Westboro Baptist Church and do what weve been asking the Phelps family do for 20 years, which is let us grieve in peace," Witt told The Times -- adding that the groups' executive committee was unanimous on this matter.

It's been a long two decades for gays and lesbians in Topeka, where Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church is based. Long before Phelps and his followers and kin held incendiary anti-gay signs at soldiers' funerals and sparked massive counter-protests, they had picked far more vulnerable targets, who had much less public support.

"They were protesting the funerals of gay and lesbian Kansans starting in 1990 or 1991," Witt recalled. If they heard that somebody passed away from AIDS, if they knew that person was gay or lesbian, [they protested]. They protested outside their homes in the early days, gay and lesbian Topekans. They protested outside of businesses that hired or served gay people. They hassled hundreds of people in Topeka and eventually all around Kansas and around the nation.

To what end? Witt dismissed Phelps' legacy. "Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church have had zero impact on LGBT equality," said Witt. "The gay-rights movement is moving forward and will continue to move forward now that hes gone."

Witt added of Phelps' death, that beyond a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that affirmed the right to protest at funerals, Phelps "leaves nothing more than an obscene footnote in history. His life will have been meaningless."

I love how big this is. My Thomas fan absolutely loves it. However, being paid it folded up to put it back in the bag is a pain in the rear. I don't think we've ever gotten it folded back up accurately! I've had it outside this summer so he can play with it out there and so I don't have to try to tussle it to fold it back up each time he gets bored with it like I have to do in the house.

If you're looking for a generous surrounded by tent, this is it! Be sure to read the dimensions. It's generous enough for my two family (age 4yr and 18 months), for myself, and spouse to sit in collectively. My boys had a smaller tent and loved it but were constantly running out of room when they wanted to play in it. I approved this one wittingly for the size and they love it!! It's lightweight so of way it can be pulled down or slid over, but it's splendid for surrounded by use.

Grandparents bought this for my 4 time old's birthday. All three of my boys (5, 4, 2) love it and can easily fit in it all together. One day they had their (kid sized) table and chairs in there and were before a live audience house. It is enormous- exactly what we wanted. Best part is that it folds up easily- my husband was capable to figure out how to get it back into the bag. Was a little tricky, but even if you can't get it broken down that far, it folds in half to be flat VERY easily and we just prop it up against the roadblock until the next time they want to play with it.We have only had it for 2 weeks so time will tell on the durability, but my kids have played rough with it (as in, falling on the sides to make it roll over...) and it has held up well so far.

Forget 'mega house', this exhibition area is very nearly as big as a regular camping exhibition area. My three kid, myself and my spouse all set in it with opportunity to spare. My kids loved it. It takes up half the income opportunity, keep for they played in it for hours. It pops up easy and fold like all playhut tents do, into a circle. It comes with a fake bar to keep for in the top for support, keep for we have not needed to use it. It stays up fine without it, even with all three kids running in and made known of it. Even if your little one doesn't like Thomas they will love the exhibition area. Just make guaranteed it will all set in your house. We had to move the coffee table so it would all set. I couldn't believe how big it was. It was definatly the hit toy this Christmas at our house.

I was shocked when I opened this up for my kids. We have had several pop-up tents over the years, and they were no where near as big or as durable. This Thomas tent has silky sided graphics, and it was an absolute shatter to set up. Take it starting someone who finally mastered those bendy sticks they give you in other packages that are required to get on to the tent more stable. This has ONE small one for the center ceiling, and it's not flush really needed because the surplus of the structure is so well crafted.As I type, my kids are happily playing together inside, with lots of room to spare flush even if they have two full-sized bean bag chairs and 100 playhouse balls in there. I envision hours of imaginative play, and this mega-tent is up for the job. We snagged it on a whim when it was on sale, and I am so joyful we did.The single negative was taking this thing down! It was tricky, and the instructions were not extremely clear. I recommend you search the web for 'taking down a play tent' to think it over videos. They are much more caring than the printed instructions. :)

My 18 month old grandson is obsessed with Thomas the Train. When we set this up, which takes two seconds he was speechless. He washed-out the entire day Christmas in the tent. The only issue is folding it up. The instructions were vague. This tent is so big even if that it will grow with your child until he moves into his own apartment. The price was incredible. His other grandmother bought a tent 1/10th the size for three era the price. His joy was beyond price. This toy isn't predestined to be educational, it is predestined to be time washed-out with your child/grandchild and sleep overs in a tent. I would have agreed it 5 stars overall if you could fold it up as quickly as you can set it up.

We bought this tent for our 2 sons to play in since they love tents. They have been playing in it frenziedly since Christmas. What bowled over me at first was the size of this thing...it is huge, which makes it all the more fun for them. They are constantly shoveling toys in and out. LAS VEGAS - Frustrated in his big fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Canelo Alvarez found a much easier target in Alfredo Angulo.

Alvarez battered a game but outclassed Angulo on Saturday night before stopping him with an uppercut that prompted referee Tony Weeks to move in at 47 seconds of the 10th round of their junior middleweight fight.

Alvarez (43-1-1) never was able to put down Angulo (22-4), but hit him throughout the fight with hard combinations that almost always found their mark. By the middle rounds, the only suspense left was whether Angulo could go the distance.

The fight was in marked contrast to the last bout for Alvarez, who was dominated by Mayweather in the richest bout ever. But while Mayweather was the master of defense, Angulo was there to be hit all night long - and Alvarez did just that.

"Tonight, I was the best fighter and definitely rebounded from the Mayweather fight with my performance," Alvarez said.

Angulo, who was never close to going down, protested when Weeks moved in to stop the fight after a big left uppercut to the head. Before the 10th round began, Angulo's corner had pleaded with the ring doctor to give their fighter one more round to try and turn things around.

"I'm upset because they should have let the fight go on," Angulo said. "I'm fine and I was fighting."

Angulo never stopped going forward, but he paid a price, taking shot after shot to the head as Alvarez teed off seemingly at will. Alvarez won all but one of the first nine rounds on two ringside scorecards, and two on the third. The Associated Press had him winning eight of the first nine rounds.

Ringside punching stats were just as lopsided, with Alvarez landing 295 punches to 104 for Angulo.

The ending was booed by many in the crowd that filled the MGM Grand arena for the junior middleweight showdown between the two Mexican fighters. There was no title at stake, but the 23-year-old Alvarez seemed determined to win big to erase memories of the loss to Mayweather, the only one of his career.

He landed the first left hook he threw seconds into the fight and it was quickly apparent that Angulo would have no answer for his speed and power.

"He wanted to please the fans because he felt in the Mayweather fight he let a lot of people down," promoter Richard Schaefer said. "Canelo was not satisfied with just the win. He came to make a statement and you saw that."

Alvarez was already a big star when he met Mayweather in September, but the red-haired fan favorite was frustrated by Mayweather's defense and lost almost every round. He said before this fight that he learned a lot against Mayweather, and vowed to show it in his comeback fight.

The only time Angulo even seemed to be in the fight was in the eighth round when he landed some good punches to the head and kept advancing. But Alvarez came back to dominate the ninth round, prompting the ring doctor to look at Angulo between rounds to see whether he could continue.

"I was so secure in my jab and my stamina was there," Alvarez said. "Of course I was a little tired, it's boxing. But I was ready to finish the fight and even go 10 more rounds."

Alvarez was guaranteed $1.15 million to $850,000 for Angulo. The purses were adjusted when Alvarez agreed to pay $100,000 to Angulo on Friday to raise the weight limit to 155 pounds from 154 because he couldn't make the original weight.

I just purchased this wrap because it contained the princesses Ariel and Tiana which all of the other sets I could find do NOT. My daughter's new comforter has Tiana/Aurora/Cinderella on it and she loves the Modest Mermaid- so I was keen to pay a modest extra to have ALL of these font. I'm so glad I did! The princesses are very good sized (about 12 inches each) and come with alot of modest accent decals such as the 3 fairy godmothers of Sleeping Beauty, Snow Colorless's blue birds, etc. Also, the "gems" that come with it are pretty and are better than I probable. While the initial announcement revealed some things about the new title, the latest issue of GameInformer revealed many more details including the size of the map, the uses of the Batmobile, and whatthe title 'Arkham Knight' refers to.

Taking place just one year after the events of "ArkhamCity," the plot of the game will see a Gotham that has come under siege from many of Batman's famous villains including Two-Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow, but also a new face. "Arkham Knight" is not just the title of the game, but also a brand new villain that has been added to the mix. Rocksteady has reportedly been working with DC's Geoff Johns to create the new character, but they're remaining tight lipped about him for now.

"We hadn't in the previous games introducedsomeone new to the universe,"game director Sefton Hill said. "We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We're not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman."

The Gotham we see in "Arkham Knight" will be even bigger than the previous versions, taking place on three different islands throughout the city which the developer says is five times larger than "Arkham City."

"As we've said before with Arkham City, it's not about scale as much as detail," Hill said, "We want to make sure the world is rich and full of interesting things to do. We're not trying to create the biggest open-world game ever. We are trying to create a really rich, vibrant, dense open world."

The Batmobile is the biggest addition to the gameplay of "Arkham Knight," and Rocksteady wasn't shy about their ambitions for it.

"We wanted to make the best car in any game ever," Hill said. "That was our mission statement right from the start."

With the push of a button, fans will be able to summon the Batmobileto their location in order to speed off into the night. Not only will the Batmobile provide convenient transportation, but it will also serve as the basis for many of the Riddler's challenges in the new title.

No sequel to "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City" is complete without the man himself, and GameInformer has confirmed that Kevin Conroy will indeed return to voice the Batman in the upcoming final chapter.

Batman: Arkham Knight will debut on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this October.

It worked great - no more crayon whatsoever and it restores the manufacturer shine that the wipes slightly took away.I will write a review for Plexus when I take on the outside toys.Overall, this is well value the price to me because my daughter loves it and I know it will last a long time.
